Gangtok:

Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.

It is a city, municipality, the capital and the largest town of the Indian state of Sikkim. It also is the headquarters of the East Sikkim district. Gangtok is in the eastern Himalayan range, at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,410 ft). The town's population of 100,000 are from different ethnicities such as Bhutia, Lepchas and Nepalis. Within the higher peaks of the Himalaya and with a year-round mild temperate climate, Gangtok is at the centre of Sikkim's tourism industry.

Day 01 - Transfer To Gangtok

Gangtok Local Sightseeing Gangtok local Sight Seeing will be as per the schedule of the guide – Includes the following - Bakthang fall, Gonjang monastery, Tashi view point, Smirti park, Ganeshtok, Flower show, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom-The rest of the day is free. Overnight stay at Gangtok. Transfer To Gangtok-drive to Gangtok - Gangtok is a perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquillity, trekking or any other adventure - Land of monastery, mystic rituals / festivals at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 feet is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - Check into Hotel - Evening free to stroll to M.G. Marg or Local Market - It is advisable to have food in any of the restaurant in M G Road or vicinity - Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

Day 02 – Excursion to Changu / Tsomgo Lake/Nathula (Optional)

Early morning breakfast – Permits are made one day prior to visit - This is nearly 48 kilometres drive and takes nearly 2 hours - Visit to Tsomgo / Changu Lake and Baba Mandir, cool, serene water and the picturesque beauty – Tsomgo lake is one of the holy lake of the region - A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside - Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provide an immaculate beauty to this place - Till April it is full of snow and lay frozen) Back to hotel for lunch or lunch on the way – The rest of the day is free - Evening one is free to stroll around M G Road or the Local Market - Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 03- Departure to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)

Drive to Siliguri, on the way to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) (110 / 98 kilometres, 2 ½ - 3 hours) *Via Rumtek Monastery* - Morning breakfast - After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) /Siliguri via Rumtek Moneastry - Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey.
